Some Minnesota History

Personal history, really, but still.
I crossed back into the US a little over a week ago and traveled through northern Minnesota to Sartell (my hometown) and then Minneapolis. Up in lake country, I stopped in at the cabin my family and I used to rent one week each July:
On the way there, I had what was probably my most startling interaction while motorcycling: I hit a bird. At 75mph. I have no idea how or why it happened, but there was a large white and gray blur that came into my field of vision from up and to the left, and then something exploded into the bike's nose. When I stopped for gas a bit later, this is all I could find:

Really glad it didn't hit me in the face...
Made it to Sartell eventually and drove by the old house. My mom is really glad to know that the new owners have kept up her landscaping efforts.

More Minnesota updates tomorrow if I have some time.
